Do Play-Asia no longer mark down prices?

I got stung by customs last time i ordered something from Playasia which has never happened to me before. Do they no longer mark the price of things down?
I want to order something but i can't see an option to ask them to mark an item down in the checkout process.

They never "officially" mark things down - you have to request they do so. If you persuade them, they will mark items down by fifty per cent on all your future orders.

I know another forumite had trouble persuading them to play ball. I had to provide them with a copy of the email they sent me agreeing to it before they'd do it for him/her.

They no longer ship official Sony accessories, systems and games for the PS3 and PSP since the Sony/Lik Sang trial, but you can order PS2 systems and all games; I've switched to Yes Asia for PS3 and PSP JPN games.

BTW, Play Asia always refused to mark down prices; on the other hand, Yes Asia marks prices down only if you don't ask them to do so.

i wouldnt be to keen on getting higher value items marked down. If it gets lost i would assume you can only get compenstation for the marked down value

That's what i thought but the last item i bought took around 3 weeks to get to me due to it being held up in customs. Can't be arsed to go through that again.

Play-Asia has marked down for me in the past on request.
I thought Yes Asia was VAT included? (then it wouldn't make sense to mark it down...?)

I don't *think* it's VAT-inclusive. What they do is ship it from their European office, which avoids the need for VAT. At least that's the explanation I've heard before, not sure it holds up to scrutiny.

I, too, have all my items marked down by PA, I don't know what that quote is all about.

I'll just throw in a quick Play Asia complaint here, I bought a Rockman Anniversary shirt from them, it said it was in stock, but then like a week later, around the time I should have got it, the guy emails me saying they never had any so I had to ask for a refund. Bah! It was an awesome shirt

I asked PA about marking down and they simply said they couldn't do it for that particular order but had flagged my account for future mark-downs of 50%.

As for YesAsia, yeah, they post to themselves and then sent internally. My packages from them are always sent from a depot somewhere in Croydon. Not sure what happens if you use courier, but apparently they give you credit if you ever get charged customs

They said that to me about the 50% aswell, then didn't do it on my GTA special edition.

Just got a load of waffle.
