the kdl-40v4000 is 1080p as it says so on sonys website and the reviews i've read as well as on av forums say its a 1080p screen with 24p playback of bluray

unless its a mistake on the website ?

i'm not in any rush to buy so could wait until the 40w4000 gets cheaper as the 40w4000 does have some extra features like 10bit panel and other things

Does anybody have a Samsung LE32A559P? A shade under £500 for a 32" 1080p TV seems a good deal. I'm awfully tempted, I've grown sick of gaming on a monitor.

I'll chip in here with my own added queries. If a person has up to £1000 limit on their budget, what would be the best size HD TV to go for regarding gaming (ie 360/PS3). I've spoken with my friend and he's given me a lot of help but he says that 100Hz doesn't really matter unless you want SD broadcasts to look smoother, that you'd hav to be a nobhead to see the difference between a 36" & 40" 1080p image, look for a good contrast ratio (don't fully understand this) and that no HD TV will be perfect after all said and done (as the best models all seem to excel in their own areas). He also recommended Sony and Samsung as decent models to go with as well. Any input would be appreciated as always.
