lcd would be the way to go as plasma screen tvs at a decent resolution is quite expensive

best idea would be to go to your local stores and see them and test your xbox on them and see freeview channels working etc on tvs in your budget and get the best one, as we will all like different tvs, our eyes different and think another tv is better than another.

cool, was leaning more towards an LCD anyway. Ive found one for £629. its a toshiba, 1080p, 3hdmi, and pc input, which i needed, and it has something called tru gaming experiance, gonna have a look at that.

what size is that 37 or 40 ?

also look at samsung or sony lcds as some shops will price match with online shops too

the toshiba was from currys, got him down to £599. since i stood there for 20 mins without even being spoken to (3 members of staff walked past me and ignored me!) and i got 6 months free tech support? he did tell me though if it goes wrong within 1 year any currys/pc world/dixons will replace or refund it for me. TBH after a yeah i can get my home insurance involved and they will replcae it for me!

Overall after using the tv for a bit last night i am massively impressed, on my old tv with my V+ box, if it wasnt a HD channel it would look a bit patchy and blocky. With the new one, was watching SS1, (just the SD one) and it looked amazing, i could literally see the fine detail of everything on screen. even the missus, who isnt a tech head said it looked 100x better. Overall very impressed with it. If your on a budget (like i was) and are after a good 1080p 42" LCD, i would highly reccomend it.
