Guitar hero 3 - problems?????

i've checked the first play thread and there is nothing thats similar to the problem i'm having

when you play a track and you get the first 2 bits of star power, for some reason it just uses the star power

not really a problem, but afterwards you can collect all the star power you want but it just wont trigger

if i hold the guy upright, shake the thing slash stylee or even use the select button it just wont work

any help would be tremendous

so far i've repositioned the wireless dongle, changed the batteries and reconnected the guitar

It's a known issue (in the community) with the wireless guitars... not sure what the solution is though.
