    Okami - PS2 or Wii?

Ok, so I'm rather late to the party with this one and since having never experienced Okami have decided to treat myself to a copy. Question is, which version should I buy?

Do I go for the PS2 version for less than half the price of the Wii one, with it's superior sound and possibly visuals if played on a PS3 or do I go for the Wii with it's control system?

I know the PS2 version seems to have alot more gunning for it, but what is the general opinion of those who have played it?

Go PS2. Looks nicer and no waggle.

I read a number of reviews and the general opinion was that the Wii version was functional at best. The controls didn't quite work as well as you'd hope. But, if you'd rather play on Wii then it just about works.

I played it on PS2 - fabulous game, one of my all-time top ten.

The real question is - Do I prefer 16:9 or 4:3 in a game?

Control issues really arnt much of an issue tbh. With the Ps2 version, it was a bit of a pain to draw. On the wii version its devine. On the PS2 version fast paced combat and massive combos were easy, on the Wii it can be a nightmare (but there is a trick to it - more about timeing than just how fast you can wiggle). I prefer the Wii version for its more striking look (I love bright colours - so the removal of the paper look was a bonus for me).

Either way, just get the game and enjoy it - either version of the game is still one of the best games of all time.

mm doesnt matter really, just get the game. 480p, 16:9 and wiimote celestial brush seal the deal for me

I completed the PS2 game, and played the Wii game for a bit. Ultimately, ending credits aside, you're getting the same game. Concerns about controls fizzle out pretty quickly as you get used to the controls anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

It all just boils down to whether or not you want to pay the extra for 480p 16:9.

Well if I bought the PS2 version, wouldn't my PS3 upscale it to above 480p?

I think I'll go with the PS2 one. It seems to have more going for it - the Wii might have good brush controls but I've heard from several sources now that the combat controls are lacking.

If the upscaling is a factor, and you're fine with 4:3 (assuming you don't want stretched 16:9), PS2 version it is. There's no real disadvantage either way, they're the same game with no content added.
