Both of my Sixaxis pads seem ****ed, please help :(

Before I begin, I'd just like to point out that this isn't going to be a repeat of my infamous PSP battery situation, so if you're reading this post expecting a laugh I'm going to have to disappoint you

One of my pads doesn't seem to work at all, connected it to the PS3 via the official (****) charge cable and it doesn't turn on - nothing seems to turn it on, even when I hold in the button on the rear of the pad.

The second pad does seem to work, albeit for a few short seconds when I press the PS button on the front before turning itself off again - I've connected it to both the official cable and my unofficial one, neither of which will keep the pad on for longer than a couple of seconds.

I cannot for even a second imagine that both pads are beyond repair, but as they say, stranger things have happened.

Edit: Seems they will both charge fine through my PC USB slots - could there be something wrong with the ones on the front of my PS3?

In both usb slots Daragon? (or all 4 if you have an older one..) try plugging in something else usb like a pc joypad or a keyboard & mouse to see if it is the usb port that is at fault?
not being able to plug them in means you cant sync? which would be a pain.

ALso try running the programme that lets you use the pad on a pc to test the pads too?

something here, may not be the best driver, I am sure tehre have been improvements but will do the job

Seems the ports on the PS3 will charge my bluetooth headset no problem - just that whenever I plug the pads into them, I get nothing.

As I say, they charge up fine through my PC so the pads aren't at fault either.
