audio cable connectivity question

Hi,

I wanted to connect two pairs of audio (L and R) cables together leading to another pair of audio (L and R) outs - just wondering what the gizmo is I'll be looking for?

Do you mean you want to make a male connection a female? Your description is a bit confusing

Basically, you can just buy any cable of any length with any connection on the end: male to male, male to female or female to female.
