Strange 360 problem when connecting to Live

Being experiencing a weird prob with my 360 the last day or so.

When I have my 360 running but not disconnected to Live it works absolutely fine. Can flick between dash screens, view achievements, play games etc. as normal.

However, as soon as I connect to Live and then start moving between blades the console hangs.....just get a static image of the 2 blades it was swapping between. No red lights / error messages etc.

The weird thing is that it only seems to be a prob my main profile that it's happening with. If I sign in to my US account it works fine. Because of this I'm assuming it must be profile rather than hardware related.

Anyone experienced this issue and how did you resolve it?

    Cheers!

You could try deleting and then recovering your profile. Dunno whether it'd work or not but might be worth a shot.

      Hi Paul,

Been looking at a few sites and some people seem to have had a similar problem when connecting to Live....although they were getting a corrupt file message. Will try zapping the profile and see if that does the trick!

Would clearing the cache be worth doing too? The hdd is only a month or so old but I transferred saves etc. over to it when my old Elite died.
      Cheers,
      Mark

I'd try the recovering the profile first. Then you could try clearing the cache if you have no joy.

Tried deleting/ recovering the profile but no joy. Then cleared the cache but still no dice

It's really odd that it's only happening as soon as I connect to Live. I have a spare memory card so guess the next option may be to copy my saves over and then reformat the hdd.

Ignore, didn't notice you'd already posted again.

You weren't in the middle of downloading the PES2009 demo were you?

Reformatted the hdd and stuck my profile / saves back on and all is now good

Funnily enough I was. I stuck the console in standby and left the demo background downloading while I did some work. Started to get the freezing prob as soon as I turned the 360 back on to check on progress (was sitting around the 50% mark).

                Have you had probs too?

Yes. Sign in without cable or wireless bridge connected, then delete the demo.
                  It should work.

Thought my xbox had had it, but it seems the half downloaded PES demo is corrupted?!

Wait a minute... You mean that guy is just some human called "Mark"?

All these years I've just blindly assumed it's that manipulative, capitalist, slaver raccoon.
