Iirc, your previous LG was a LX2R, like mine. 360 via component isn't that great with this set (ghosting), reason why mine is connected to the DVI input, with a component to vga transceiver.

My point is maybe component is not ****ty with your new TV.

Quickly checked my Sky via Scart which looks MILES better than my old TV did so really really please with that. Gonna have a tinker about with the settings to fine tune it all now then check some Blurays and PS3/360. And I'll do some proper impressions later.
      Good stuff.

I just ordered the TV for ma & pa.

Yeah you make a good point, I'll dig out the cable tonight and try it then. I was used to VGA too, as the overscan on component was horrendous before so lets see if it's any different with this TV. Yeah that's what I had too, wee VGA>DVI converter type and worked a treat on the LG.

It's a shame as PS3 through HDMI looks spiffing, so hope component ain't too bad on this TV.

        I'll report back.

Otherwise, I'm really loving this TV anyway. Was playing that Uncharted game for PS3 last night on it and it really does it justice, game looked gorgeous.

EDIT: Nice one capcom, it really is a good set, and treats SD material very well I think.

Why is component ****ty, it should be pretty much the same as HDMI, infact may give a warmer picture than VGA.

Isn't it technically inferior since it's analog and not digital. I don't know. All I know is that on the only TV I've tried it on, component was much worse than VGA which was alot sharper. But as amorenod says above, that may just have been my TV so it's worth trying again to see. It certainly was more rich when it came to colour vibrancy than VGA but the fine details were a bit muddy compared to VGA.

Nice one, hopefully I'll get bout £100 off some unsuspecting mug for my old TV!

I'll have a look at football later and see how it goes, Sky looks great though in general through Scart as does upscaling DVDs.

sky through the scart connection, is that using rgb?

so the best price for this, is from richersounds then with the guarantee ?

                    isn't there a v4500 model as well ?

Yup, RGB Scart, looks mint I think. I searched loads, Richersounds have it at £395 with 5 year guarantee which is a bargain I think.

I believe the v4500 is not much different, as mentioned previously in this thread as capcom owns one, it's got XMB interface, accepts 1080/24p signals and downscales them itself, still outputs same resolution though, and has an optical out. Not really worth the extra £150 though for myself so I didn't bother.

yeah that's the thing as i have been wondering whether to shell out 600 on the kdl32w4000 cause it does 1080p but now there is this because some games aren't even 1080p just 720p

Yeah I didn't think it was worth it for only a 32" TV but each to their own.

As a few people we wondering what it's like with sport then it's good. Watchin Man Utd game on Setanta right now and looks great, no blur or anything which I'm very happy with as football usually shows up shoddy TV's.
