    Wii from Thailand

    Afternoon peeps,

Just a bit of an odd one here...the Better halfs sister has just got hold of a Wii from an Amazon market place seller that is from Thailand.

Now the odd thing is her PAL version of Guitar Hero works on it fine.

My question now is are Thai Wii's actually PAL coded??

I assume they are because GH works but I just want to check for her before we go buying loads of PAL software for it.

    Ta muchly

They use PAL in Thailand, so if it definitely got released there it's probably the same as the Australian/ UK/ Europe one. The only way to know for sure would be to check the instruction manual and warranty info for the Nintendo address.

Maybe check with a GC game too to be sure.

Thailand has a Wii country code:

Although the list implies the region would be ntsc-j. I don't think there are region free disks for the Wii, so either it is chipped, actually a pal machine, or Thailand uses pal encoded Wii disks.

One interesting thing to check would be what currency the shopping channel accepts.

Running the AnyRegion changer via the homebrew channel would tell you the system region (system menu and disks) for sure.
