    PS3 parental control - can't play online

I set up a sub-account for my nephew on his PS3 because he's not old enough yet, and whenever he tries to play online he gets a message telling him that he can't because of parental controls. I've tried to fix it but the only option I can find in parental controls is to limit who he chats to and how much he can spend, there's no option to allow him to play online.

    What do I do?

If you put his real age in on his account then he will not be allowed to play games rated above his age. The normal parental settings have nothing to do with this. The PSN account is what's stopping him. My Son was unable to play Burnout online until he was 13 then miraculously he could. It's by design.

Makes complete sense, I guess, cheers!

      He's "22" now

How do I adjust my son's age? I have him down as 8, but I want to be able to play online with him.
        Kept you waiting, huh?
