    Largest PSP Memory Stick size

What's the biggest memory stick size a PSP can accept? I know it used to be 4GB, but didn't they solve that?

I ask because 8GB sticks are only ?19.99 now, which is extremely tempting.

Not sure what the biggest is, but I use an 8GB in my PSP-2000 with no problems.

Will 8GB work with custom M33?

Yes. I have 3.80 M33-5 and an 8gb micro-sdhc card in and adapter and it works fine.

np. I believe that 16gb cards will work (once they become affordable).

It is 16GB at the moment, unless you're running the official firmware v5.00. If you are and have more than 4GB of space you'll get a message to tell you that the memory stick is full when you try to download content to it from the Store.

              Luckily...

The version 5.01 update resolves this issue.
As to the memory sticks, you can get a 16GB one for around £70 depending on what type you want. It's not cheap but the speed that prices drop on these things now they'll be around half that in 6 months.

              EDIT:
Jake, I'm sure you don't need telling but make sure you're buying them from a proper shop rather than somebody you're unsure of on eBay as there are so many counterfeits out there which are often just 1GB cards in a different case and aren't MagicGate compliant.

I tend to use the same retailers because I know that I can trust them.

^Yeah this is a legit place which I'ved used quite a few times before =) N I avoid eBay and Amazon for that reason.. The same place has a 16GB for £99 which just seems... silly.

                I'm using firmware 5.00 M33-3 btw.

Shakey... Just as you talk about this, you probably found the same £19.99 Lexar 8GB MS Duo Stick that I received TODAY!

I can confirm that the Lexar 8GB MS Duo Stick is a legit one and not a fake one.

First thing I did was test against my 5.00 M33 firmware and it is a legit MS Duo as it says MagicGate supported!

All my homebrew stuff like MAME and my ISOS work fine.
It's great to have 8GB worth of data for £19.99!

My only disappointment was that it seemed to take a long while to format (musta been 15 seconds) and it took me 10 minutes to copy my old (4GB worth of) data from my computer.

Normally I don't stray away from Sandisk for MS Duo Sticks but if I ever get another large MS Duo stick, I think I will stick to Sandisk for its fastness.
