    Buying Laptop - Intrest Free

Looking to buy a laptop has to be a decent spec. (2Ghz+ and maybe 4GB RAM, also big HDD) Mostly for University work, but using high resource programs.

Ideally I need this as soon as possible, but have no monay. So I'm looking for somewhere with some decent finance options. Any ideas. Do amazon do that kind of thing?

    (No macs please)

    Thanks FORUM!

ebuyer have a nine months interest free scheme, but you must pay in the nine months or face a very high interest rate (set yourself up a direct debit so you don't forget or skip a month etc).

Alternatively why not get a 0% credit card ?

      You FSA regulated David?

I think PC World also do some kind of finance deals.

Don't do this if you have no income. It won't get any easier to pay in 9 months time and the interest rate of 30% or so will be killer. Also if you've no income, credit is unlikely.

If you're going to do this, abuse a free balance transfer deal. 2.5% charge for 12months interest free. I believe they allow bank account balance transfers without marking it as a cash advance (AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE if they do). Put the money from the CC into your bank. Buy the laptop. You've then 12 months or so to pay it off before the interest hits.

Thanks for the concern and tips Smurf, I have another two student loan payments coming in and I work weekends so I will be able to pay everything off.
