probs with a 360 wireless network adapter - any help appreciated!

    Hi guys,

I changed my 360's location recently so can now connect to my router via ethernet. As a result I sold my official wireless adapter to a member over on AVF. I've not had any probs with the adapter at all and double checked it was working before posting.

Unfortunately, the buyer has pm'd me to say that when he hooks it up to the 360 the the power light on the adapter doesn't come on at all. I know you get a red light if the security settings etc. are incorrect or there is no router in range but not seen this prob before.

Looking at xbox.com the help section suggests no light could either be a prob with the adapter or with the 360's usb port. The guy tells me that he's tried a pad in the port and that is working fine so guess that is ruled out.

I'm kind of clutching at straws but just want to make sure it's a definite hardware fault and not something daft before I ask him to return it.

    Anyone experienced something similar before?

    Thanks in advance!

Get him to plug it into one of the ports at the front of the console and into a USB port on another device such as a PC. That should rule it out for sure.

If it's the power light I would assume it doesn't need any drivers since it's there to indicate power, not connectivity.

Ask him to try all the USB ports, it should be able to work in any one of them.

Plugging mine into my PC and even my Ipod charger gives me at least a red light on it.

        Thanks guys.

I have suggested trying another usb port but hadn't thought about a pc (just assumed it wouldn't be recognised).

It recognises it on the PC.
