And you've done all of this under the PC's Safe Mode too? Yeah, that sounds quite hard to shift then.

You using Firefox? Have you tried starting in safe mode for Firefox, and ticking every box bar resetting your bookmarks?

Uninstall firefox? Then try killing it? Does it affect chrome/opera/IE?

It definitely affected chrome. I got rid of it all by formatting my SSD drive!!
