PS3 Questions - Online? VGA? What?

I got a 360, I play it lots... I love the online features.....

But I need a new phone, any **** phone that gives me free minutes and texts.
I found one deal, 600 minutes free a unlimted Texts free tio any network.

better than my deal I had with my old Mobile phone - ?40 a month for 300 mins and 300 textes.

So.. This deal (I get to point in a sec)... Is ?35 a month for 18 months which I dont mind.. I been over spending on pay as you go..
So... This deal offers a free PS3 with 80gig HD and Singerstar.. YAY! lol

Now.....
I don't own a HDTV, cant afford one. I use my 360 on my monitor via VGA.. but read Sony dont do this.
Whats cheapest best way to get HD on ps3 via my monitor? (It nots HDCP complient).

Whats the online features like to play games - do we pay? Like 360 Gold?


And most of all.. Is it really worth having a PS3 even if I love my 360?

I mainly jut want to play exclusives ala MGS, New Little Big Planet etc etc...
Are there many Exclusives? (I don't like racers).

I didn't know you couldn't use VGA / DVI with the PS3. In that case the best thing to do would be to use a component -> VGA adaptor - I think the current models are 1080p (but 720p would be fine anyway, as I think few games run higher than that).

Online play is free on the PS3. For me, I'd never play a 360 online - I'm not into online play & it wouldn't EVER be worth the subscription. But if you've got a 360 already & you love it... I'd be surprised if the exclusives made it worthwhile.

Best way is probably to use a HD Box Pro to convert the component signal to VGA. I have one for sale if you're interested

i thought i need a XVGA2 or some like HDFURY?

my monitor is no hdcp so i cant use a dvi adaptor

I use a HD Box Pro right now, it works great. It takes the Component and converts it to VGA, and scales it to whatever resolution you set. There might be slight quality loss, but not enough for it to matter. I use it to connect my PS3 to my 1280x1024 monitor, it scales it to that resolution and maintains correct aspect ratio.

HD Fury is nice, but it's significantly more expensive.

Should be fine as the PS3 has an optical out, you can change the sound settings from the XMB to whatever connection you want to use, so you can choose from HDMI, optical out or the AV cable.

PS3 comes with no component leads though. So you'll need PS3 or PS3 components leads (they're the same).

If you really love your games then it's worth having both systems IMO. I got PS3 first for MGS4, LBP, Wipeout and motorstorm. Recently grabbed a 360 for gears (which i actually think is crap), Mass Effect and halo 3. Ironically I'm actually using to to play nothing but Fallout 3 whcih i could have bought on PS3

Both formats have their exclusives, but the 360 does have enough to justify purchase, hardware issues aside. I do miss Dead Rising, since my 360 died and I cannoty afford another.

The PS3 comes with a standard compo****e cable, no HD cables. Shocking I know. You just need a Component cable. PS2 or PS3 cables are identical, fyi.

Should I get Free PS3 with 80gig HD and LBP or a Free PS3 with 160Gig HD?

I think 80 is enough for me, I dont even use full 20gig on 360!
