    PayPal - Unverified

Can anybody tell me what it means if somebody paying you via PayPal is 'unverified'?

I think it means they have not supplied any Credit Card details. When I joined Paypal it said my account was unverified until I added a Credit Card.

Even if you have registered a CC with paypal, you are not verified until you confirm the card with them. This is done via your monthly/online card statement, where they will deduct a tiny amount and label it with a reference number. You have to log onto paypal and key in this number to verify.

If you have a card registered, but not verified, I think they just limit how much you are allowed to spend.

Where is this confirmation function on Paypals site? I cant for the life of me find out how or where to verify my address. I have a registered CC which i've used numerous times on Paypal.

There should be a link about how to become verified on the site. But i remember you had to give them some details from a credit card statement where they took a small amount of money from it.

If it's your address you are talkng about, then Uk members can not verify their address, so dont waste your time looking.

Only US users can have a verified address.

Ebay who own Paypal are supposed to be sorting it out, but nothing has been done yet.

I believe to be verified you need to give them your account number, checking or savings whatever you prefer.

Then they transfer some money to you, you enter the amounts they sent, and viola you are verified.

I think Paypal is cool when to comes to paying Tokuda or Play Asia. Yes I guess it does suck its not FDIC insured and that is a problem I suppose. Also I believe they help spy on you for the government with the Patriot Act.

Still if there is a safer option, what is it?

They supposed to do that but it doesn't mean they do as i experience, and still got nowhere after emailing them 5 times and just getting fobbed off with check your statement 3 months later. I'll stick to bank transfer i think.

I've not had a bad experience with paypal yet, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. I've heard some horror stories, but most of them were from the service when it was in it's infancy. Everything I buy off play-asia is paid for via paypal (it's great being able to use a UK switch card to buy stuff from an asian company so easily). For me, it's either use paypal, or use a credit card. I absolutely loathe credit cards.
