New laptop needed - help please!

OK, so I need a new laptop.

It needs to be of good build quality, ideally will run Guild Wars 2 particularly well when it comes out later this year, and have a monitor that's widescreen, and 17" - ideally with a numeric keypad (it's for a desktop replacement).

My current machine has started to shut down at times of high stress (when rendering, 3D modelling or gaming) so it needs to be replaced ideally within the next week or so.

Is this do-able for under ?800?

it's pretty much all about the graphics card. Make sure you get a decent graphics card (look up benchmarks for them) and the rest of the laptop should be up to the task.

Avoid 8600M/9600M chipsets.

Also, for this kind of laptop you lose almost all portability. Looking at 1hr battery and it'll get very warm

Doesn't matter; it'll never be used on the move.
