Billy run the firmware update tool that came with your bundle software, Mine updated the drive for me, didnt have any problems with it before or after.
Thank you very much for your help dude. I don't think I'll be using my PS3 much now for Blu Rays! You have to sacrifice BD-Live but I never use it so I am really happy now! Thanks again!

@ huxley: Cheers. It's on the latest firmware (1.03), I think the update appeared a week or two after I bought the drive. I've got a pile of hddvds I bought from play.com on the cheap just itching to be watched, maybe that'll help me figure out if anything's really wrong.

Why couldn't it have been Matrix Revolutions

Funny you should mention the matrix as thats the only Bluray disc i have problems playing.

@Rockman - you dont have to disable BRlive if you dont want to in anydvdhd.

A good thing to keep an eye out for is slysoft are in the process of making their own Bluray/hd playback software, which I`m glad to say will be free! Cyberlink have taken the piss for far too long.
From what I`ve read it will be able to intergrate into other players ie MCE and the likes.
