From what I gather there is a fair few I do know...

    Anything by EA wont work.
Some Sega stuff doesnt (The Club for example)

Other than that I couldnt tell you everything as I just buy the Jpn imports anyway...havent been into a shop & bought a game in over 18 months now, everything comes from Play-Asia

The majority of PAL games are region locked.

Activision games, and older Sega PAL games are region free. Anything else is a lottery.

There's a few, yeah. I'm told EA are the worst for it - Mirror's Edge and Dead Space are locked, for instance. My current dilemma is trying to find a JPN copy of DOA4, when the PAL one can be had for pennies. This guide is worth checking over for any region-compatibility questions.

Cheers. Trying to work out what machine to put where.

The majority of mine are US which work on Pal, or Pal. The Asian machine is mainly for the shooters (which i don't have yet) so i may just put that in the bedroom.

I got a cheap DOA4 for my ntsc-j machine, I'll see if I can work out where it was from.

I don't think its too bad. I still don't understand why they region lock Pal titles. I can't see who from an NTSC region would possibly go through the expense of importing a Pal version.

The main problem lately is if a title was region locked you could nearly always get the asain version for 30 quid or less, but the exchange rate has knacked that a bit.

It was from Play-Asia for $29, for the original Japanese release, when that was something like ?14 - about a year ago now.

Been sold out for a while, and the Platinum version they have is priced at $10 more. Oh well

Simple - given the exchange rate at the moment, it might work out cheaper to buy a Eur/UK version from abroad, in the same way that it used to be cheaper for us to buy Asian versions.

Ordered an Asian 360 with 60gb HDD. Thinking of selling the HD as i already have a uk Elite. Just wondering, how does it work. I'm thinking of installing games on both consoles and using my normal live gamertag across both. Will that work fine?

You can happily swap the HDD about and use your profile on either console. You can only play installed games on the console you originally use to put them on the HDD though.

                          Bloody annoying that isnt it

Keep you profile on a memory card is the easiest way.

The only games i will want to install would be for that particular console anyway. So i'm all good on that.

Bung that 60GB HDD on ebay when i recieve it, hopefully it will help recoup some costs.
