    Posting a new 360 - good protection?

I'm posting a new, sealed 360 to a friend. Seeing as it's sealed, I don't know how it's packed inside. Is the internal packing good or do I need to wrap it in bubble wrap?

And yes, it's badly built and breaks if you blow on it, let alone put it through the Royal Mail's "machine".

The regular packaging is fine, otherwise how do you think people buy the console online?

You'll be OK unless the postie decides to play footie with your package. I would recommend special delivery so you're covered up to £500.

Personally I'd at least put bubble wrap & parcel paper round the outside of the box. I've bought one in the past that was simply wrapped in brown paper and the box was pretty dog eared and the corners mashed to s**t....depends if your friend is fussed about the box I guess.

When I've sold 360's to people here I've always bubbled wrapped the console box and then stuck it inside another cardboard box for peace of mind. Never had any probs and for the sake of an extra couple of quid I think it's money well spent.

If it did arrived damaged I'm not sure what Royal Mail stance would be if you didn't do a half decent packaging job (yes 360's are bought online but most retailers will use the minimum of a cardboard box & possibly air pockets too).

Much easier than queuing with the public!

If he is not bothered about the box being pristine, just turn it inside out, gaffer the edges, and 1 layer of bubble wrap around the actual machine.

Blimey, that's cheaper than Royal Mail Standard Parcels unless I missed something, surely some mistake?
