NC10 VGA out problem

So I want to connect the NC10 to my Samsung HD-ready panel. I want to have the display on the TV and the NC10 screen blank.
I connected everything up and hit Function and F4 to select "CRT mode", which worked. Then I started messing about with the screen properties with the 1 and 2 screen settings and now I can only get it so both the NC10 and the TV display the same thing "LCD & CRT mode".
If I select "CRT mode" the NC10 goes blank and the TV says "Resolution not supported". The resolution is set at 1024x768. I'm quite sure it was at 1024x720 when it worked at first, but I only now have the choice of 1024x800 and 1024x768.

Can anybody help me out. I was messing about with it for ages last night trying to get it back to how it was with no luck.

I had issues getting VGA out in a laptop to work with my Samsung panel. Got it working eventually though.

I believe the resolution you'll want is 1368 * 768 for most samsung 720p monitors. Set it as the main monitor in control panel. My TV was very fussy with the resolutions and it would drop the signal every time the image mode changed (had to pick it up again by cycling through the inputs)
