Blu-ray Disc player on the cheap?

Simple question really, in terms of standalone player for plugging into an HD ready television, what would be the cheapest option at the moment?

Not necessarily the best option though...

Which is best Blu Ray player from Panasonic (as long it support both Region A and B) say for 200-250 pounds. Remember I already got USA PS3.

Assuming I want one to go with my new TV when I get buy down offer from Royal Mail. (reduce from 40 to 34 hours)

Ah, guessed not. But I wasn't expecting to get a Denon for a low end price.

Had planned ages ago to get a PS3, but, paying out ?300 for a dying console format, nah.

Go with the PS3, even if you don't use it for games. It's a great, fast BD player.

ASDA have a player for £140, and they have the Sony player for £200. You could use it as an excuse to get a PS3 though.

Dont bother with standalones pick up a PS3, its probably the best bluray player on the market and with the built in wifi, your player will always be uptodate.

It's the worst bluray player on the market if you use an all-in-one style remote (Logitech Harmony) - it can't be controlled via IR.

I really hope this gets fixed.

You probably want to make sure whatever player you buy supports the full Blu-Ray 2.0 profile (which includes stuff like Picture-in-Picture, internal storage etc). The PS3 is the most future-proof player because it's software updatable, and also the most widespread player. But it certainly is a premium over the £119 price point above.

I'm using it fine with a ?10 IR adaptor and my Harmony.

You can get new, unused Panasonic DMP-BD35s on Amazon marketplace for not a lot of cash.
