Yeah, I use it. It's awesome. What questions do you have?

I was wondering really about the search function, as it seems pretty limited. Does it search just what you see infront of you, or the site you are using?

Also, it loads up 25,000 'bits', why does it only show you a few? Do you keep having to press 'get more'?

Oh, I don't bother to download headers and browse newsgroups using the application itself, I just grab nzbs from website and open those in Unison. Downloading headers is a pain; you might download 25,000 'bits' but those only constitute so many actual headers, so its an exercise in futility trying to find what you want.

I used to use it, but have recently moved to Hellanzb, which, whilst a little more complex to set up, is free and much more powerful. If you want something that's almost as powerful, but slightly easier to set up, try looking at SABNzb.

Is there an alternative to Stuffit, as it keeps stalling for me, after taking ages?

Stuffit? OMG, get that crap off your mac as soon as possible mate. It's like a virus. Vile, disgusting piece of software. It's practically a trojan.

To answer your question - there must be alternatives because I don't have it on either of my Macs. Let us know what type of compressed files you need to deal with and we'll sort you out.

I've tried Zipeg and The Unarchiver. Zipeg showed me it had put the files on my desktop, but they weren't actually there, and The Unarchiver did nothing other than flash up 'Preparing to extract'.

                    Just want to open .rar's.

The Unarchiver works with most stuff but I've found it problematic with some stuff, mainly when files are split and/or have passwords. It seems random which ones it will and won't work with, which is slightly annoying.

If they're RARs you're trying to open, UnRarX has never failed me.

Use MacPar. Feed the first par file into it and it'll parity check the entire set of rars you've downloaded, then unrar the whole thing for you if set it up that way. It's great.
