    Remote Play help

Can anybody tell me how to forward ports on a Netgear DG438G? I need to forward port 9293 so that I can access my PS3 for Remote Play over the internet. I've looked at portforward.com, but it has nothing in regards to Remote Play.

I'm finding it rather confusing tbh, so I'd appreciate any help.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Have you got a UPnP option on your router? Does turning it on make it work?

I have the box checked on the router, but the PS3's connection test says UPnP Not Available.

^_^ Sorry that was my only helpful suggestion. (The other one would have been check portforward).

Even if you forward the ports, you're going to have issues with Remote Start over the Internet. You can Remote Play fine, but the PS3 will randomly turn itself on with Remote Start enabled. It happens with most routers, and Netgear is one of the manufacturers that's a bit funny about it.

I have a Netgear DG834PN, which is probably similar. Assuming it is, this is the process:

          1. Go to Services -> Add Custom Service. Give it a name, set type to 'TCP/UDP', and then enter '9293' as both the start and finish port.

          2. Before you go further you need to make sure that the PS3 has a static IP on your network. That's done in the LAN IP Setup menu, where you choose an IP for your PS3 based on its MAC address under Address Reservation.

          3. Go into Firewall Rules and click 'Add' under Outbound Services. Choose the service you just made from the list of services, change action to 'Allow always', set LAN users to 'Single address' and enter your PS3's IP address. Leave WAN users as 'any', and turn off logging. Repeat that for Inbound Services and click 'Apply'.

That will open the port/s to your PS3, but whether or not it works is another matter.

I had already done that. No joy though
How comes it doesn't work anyway? Is it to do with my ISP or what?
