inserted a new 80 gb samsung hdd it is all installed and comes up in the device manager but not when i look on my computer so can not access it or even format it.

right click my computer, go to 'manage' then 'disk management'
does the partition show then? you can assign it a drive letter and format it from there. -
yer it shows the 200gb hdd which os is installed on and the new 80gb one that is the problemComment
