    Flash and Firefox 3.0.6

Over the last week any sites that have flash adverts are crippling my CPU.

I'm running the latest version of Flash and my OS is XP.

A site like Kotaku will cause my CPU to run to 90% and slow down browsing.

Everything else is running fine it's just those ads.

Anyone got any ideas on how to sort this?

    Many thanks

Yep, use AdBlock Plus and Filterset.G and see very few ads again. Ever. Also recommend NoScript as lots of sites use that to get around blockers.

        Also, moved.

yep for some reason, even though the plugin has the same code as the IE version, the Firefox flash loves using 100% CPU. Eases up with a dual core CPU but it's irritating. Especially as you can only have one instance of firefox open at a time so if one window crashes, they all crash (one of IEs best features is the ability to have mulitple instances open)

            Definitely this.

Can't fault this combination to make Firefox the definitive browser for me.

A new version of Flash was put on Adobe's website today, download that and give it a go perhaps.

How much RAM do you have installed? That's the first thing I look at in relation to any performance issues.

I have 2 GB of ram so that shouldn't be a problem.

Have downloaded the new version of flash and see if that helps.
