    Sega Genesis/Mega Drive GAMES Borders Question

    I saw some commercials and I saw on some games big borders from up and bottom, and slight from right and left. There was too on Sonig The Hedgehog. They were blue, gray, etc... And I read on some other forum that someone had a LCD and he had problems with borders with Genesis. Sooo...

    Is it really true?? And do all games have that nasty borders or only some??? Because some games didnt look that way. So dont someone have list of those games?? And they are to compensate for overscane or what??? And are they on Sega CD games too??? Or other systems????

    THANKS

    The borders are on games running at 50Hz. At 60Hz there are no borders, unless they were intentionally put in.

        Yeah the ones in Sonic are because it's in 50Hz.

        That shows you the difference.

          Yes, it is 100% 50hz border, because I grabbed that picture from Australian Mega Drive commercial. That GP is from Genesis commercial, so there are only that very little grey borders. THANKS
          ps: And what is that thing you posted? I can see only some white square.

              But it seems that when it is originally recorded from Console, there are colored borders. There are on NTSC Sonic on all sides, so when someone uses LCD, then he must live with those borders, right?

                Doesn't matter if it's LCD/PLASMA or CRT, it needs to be 60hz to be border-free.

                50hz = borders

                60hz = full screen and full speed.
