Wii LAN Adapter - any good?

I'm thinking of doing away with having my Wii connected wirelessly (even though the machine is probably more suited to the wireless set-up, tbh) and hooking it up to an Ethernet connection like my XBOX 360.

I'm considering purchasing a Wii LAN Adapter (probably Nintendo's own, although there are a few third-party ones out there that have been made by the usual suspects like Datel)
and they seem to be selling online for a fairly cheap price range of between ?10-15. Does anybody on here own one? Are they any good? Are they worth the purchase?

    Cheers.

I have one and used it for 6 months, no complaints, it does what it's supposed to. Nothing more to say about it tbh!

Possibly worth looking at the 3rd party ones rather than the expensive Nintendo one, as they're all just generic USB Ethernet adaptors.

I'm using a third party adapater by Datel. Works fine, it's cheaper than Nintendo's and features a blue RX/TX led in front of it.

Same as above, been working fine for months, no probs at all and the lights look cool when you play in the dark

I would assume you're less prone to lag in online games like Mario Kart as a wired connection should be faster?

Cheers for the posts so far, people!

BTW, my XBOX 360 is connected to an Ethernet Powerline Adaptor network. That shouldn't be a problem for a Wii LAN Adapter, should it?

Nah, I've got pretty much everything in the whole house going through powerline and it's no probs. Wii, 360, PS3 and a couple of PCs all living in harmony
