    PS2 Controller Layout on a PS3

    When trying to use PS2 controllers (which connect via PSX-USB connections) on my 40GB Japanese PS3 the button layout is way off.

    For example;

    L3 is Start
    Circle is X
    Square is Triangle
    R1 is R2
    etc. (You get the idea )

    Also, the right analog sticks seem to be aligned wrong - left is up, up is left etc.

    Anyone know why this is or how to fix it?

    What models the usb adaptor, I've got a Logic 3 one and every button maps fine using that, even changes the analogue button to an Home one.

      Just a warning about the Logic 3 one, it has a problem where left on the dpad will drop out after being held for a few seconds. Can be a problem if you're blocking in SF, say. It's annoying because it's otherwise a really good adapter.

        Is that for SF4 or HD, haven't tried it with HD but never noticed any issues with 4.

          Does it with any game as far as I know. Just hold left and you'll see you stop moving after a few seconds.

            mmm, I'm wondering if they've done some sort of hardware revision and fixed it in the newer ones as I've just been playing SF4 in the training mode, held left for over 30 secs and the characters continue to walk backwards with no stopping.

              I've tried two different ones;

              - a dual PSX-USB made by "Tesun"
              - the other has no branding on it and is a single PSX-USB cable

              I might buy a cheap Logic3 one and give it a go.
