    SD cards on a pc?

I've been having a problem with an SD card reader on my pc and it's driving me mental!

What I have is multicard reader that fits into a 3.5" floppy port; it installed ok with the drivers and nothing is conflicting.

The problem is that when I inset a card the acess light comes on but I can't get into the drive through My Computer. I've tried two different SD cards (both of which read fine under my Wii) but the same thing happens.

    What am I mssing?

What's the capacity of the SD cards and which file system are they formatted with? The first card reader I bought couldn't handle SD cards greater than 1GB.

I've tried a one gig and a two gig.

I'm assuming the format is FAT32 but I can't even get as far as a quick format.

There's an SD card formatting tool on the official SD org website. Have you tried that? Although by the sounds, if you can't even see it in "my computer", then that won't help.

I can see it ok in but when you click on the drive it just crashes My Computer after a time out.

I'll have a look at that utility anyway.
