Music file associations

Windows keeps forgetting that music files are opened with winamp, even general mp3s it asks for a program to open them with, winamp doesnt restore the file associations on startup either, according to nullsoft this is a windows program duo to it handle to many file types or some nonsense, just wondered if anyones had this problem and might know a fix, cheers

I assume you've tried:

(Right-click MP3 file) > Open with... > Choose Program... > Winamp (and select "always use the selected program to open this kind of file") > OK

What version of Windows? On Vista it's Control Panel (Classic View) > Default Programs > Set Associations, but the method listed above should do the trick as well.

If i do the choose program option everytime i click an mp3 it opens it in winamp but in a new playlist so blanks the current one, it wont enqueue so to speak, which is just as annoying heh

Winamp Preferences -> General preferences -> File Types -> Explorer Settings ->Enqueue files bla bla

Yes it all ticked, fact is it doesnt "do it" anymore
