Saturn Memory Cart Question

Do these things clear if left dormant for a couple of years?

I recently put Panzer Saga on and expected my old saves to be intact but the Saturn didn't even acknowledge it's presence when I opted for 'load game'.

Do you mean the built in memory or a plug in cart?

The plug in cart.

Pretty sure they're flash so they should be good for some time, like SD cards for example.

Well, it wasn't really advice sadly. I often wondered how these cards remembered stuff for so long. I suppose I could look it up

Check if the cart is detected in the BIOS menu/other games?
If it isn't recognised, you might want to clean the contacts on both the console and cart...

it might have a battery back up in it too, check the net with its name and code

Got it working last night by pressing it in a little more firmly so maybe this ...

... is the problem.

The memory cart is still like new so I'm guessing there migth be a bit of dust in the cart slot.
