    What exactly is this?

    Hey guys,

I bought a 22inch full hd lcd monitor about a month ago and after a week I noticed 3 little red marks on the screen, they look like they have been drawn on but no matter what I do I can't remove it. I usually don't notice the marks unless I am viewing or playing something with a white background. Any help would be appreciated

Could be dust trapped under the glass.

If it's under the glass, then with a warranty.

What if it's something else? I don't have any knowledge of dust turning red

If they're constantly red, I imagine they're stuck pixels.

Hmm I've researched about dead pixels but these look curvy, almost as if they have been drawn on but I guarantee they haven't. Are there any more ideas?

since it's clearly red it looks more like a stuck pixel defect which spans a few more pixels. but it's strange looking nonetheless. however, i have the same problem. try running a pixel flash software like undead pixel oder jscreenfix. it's freeware and easy to find. it didn't help me yet. but i am going for another, longer try.

I already used jscreen fix, it said 5 minutes and that didn't work. I'm currently trying undead pixel, thanks for suggesting that especially if it works

EDIT - Nope, those don't work

didn't work for me either yet. but i will keep trying as some people in the internet say that this is going to need time in some cases. of course there's also report of stuck pixels which last. hope i don't belong to the latter category. however, if it's still there in a few weeks i will make use of my warranty.

oh, and have you already tried the other, physical ways of removing stuck pixels? like applying pressure to the points or a "pixel massage"?

Some manufacturers/retailers will only accept returns for stuck/dead pixels if there are over a certain amount of them in a certain area of the screen. Some are really arsey about the difference between dead and stuck pixels too.
