Claiming for damages - PS3 sent via DHL?

I recently sold my PS3 to someone at HUKD and they've recieved it but apparently all of the game/blu ray cases are broken (7 cases total) and the hard drive makes a very loud annoying noise when the PS3 is turned on but it doesn't make that noise when he tried a friends HDD. It definately didn't make that noise when I had it.

I'm not really sure what the value of claim would be which I have to fill out on the form, new cases will cost just under ?6 al together. but the HDD needs replacing, so do I need to look for the cost of a new 40gb mini-HDD?

You should claim for the cost of repair, not the cost of parts (even if you then buy the part and repair it yourself) .
