    360 Profile Question

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, but I've never done it before.

What's the best way to transfer profiles around? Here's the situation. We're playing Rock Band at my friend's house. I've quite a bit of DLC that we'd like to play on my HDD, and I have a memory unit that I use for my game saves. My friend has a HDD with no DLC, and no memory unit. There's a couple more people turning up as well, with no memory units.

So, is my profile held on my 360, the HDD or the memory unit? And can I move it across?

Though I've never done it, I think we can all use his 360 and HDD if we Recover gamertags, but from what I've read, that takes a long time. And then I guess I could redownload my DLC to his HDD, but that seems a daft way to do it.

If the gamertag can be tied to the hardware and also a memory unit/HDD, then we can use his 360 with his tag, I can move my gamesave over to the HDD, and then we can go that route, and my other friends will have to pickup memory units.

Any advice on this is appreciated. It seems far too complex to me

Basically the save is tied to the account it was created with (Yours I presume) as is the DLC you've downloaded (you can play it on any machine/HDD/MU providing you are signed in with your tag)

As long as you get all the tags signed in and can load up the save you want, you should be set.

OK cool. So how do I get my Gamertag on his 360? Is Recover the only option or can I move it over with my HDD or MU? Thanks

So I'm guessing it's simple enough to move my profile to my MU, and use it that way. Cool.

Yup, it is indeed that simple.

What I'm thinking is moving my friends profile to my MU, using my HDD on his 360 to save having to redownload tonnes of crap.

Now to find out just where my profile is located (HDD or MU) and if the RB2 gamesave can be moved across, as I know some saves don't allow you to.

That's exactly what i'd do, use your HDD where all the content and the license owners profile is and let him use his profile via a MU and he can use your content as well so long as you are signed in.

I'd be amazed if your profile + save weren't on HDD though mate, I always save to HDD though.

All my saves are on my MU, I know that. I'll try transferring later

Rockband does allow you to move/copy the save.
