    best setup for Panasonic Q?

    Got mine set up again.
Went to play Starfox on my Samsung LCD, looking a bit crappy to be honest.

Anybody got any recommendations for optimum setup?

Using a Component cable and running games in 480p is pretty much the best you can do. It's quite game-dependent too, F-Zero GX looks stunning on an LCD in 480p, and Resi REmake looks gorgeous even in 480i (I guess because most of the screen is static). On the other hand, Resi 4 and Zelda Twilight Princess always look a bit crappy on an LCD.

Ok, will look out for a cheap component.

      Cheers.

Unfortunately it doesn't. The best the Q can do (on DVD playback) is S-Video. I have an RGB SCART cable made from a butchered D-Terminal one. It has an in-line composite video input so you don't have to change A/V channel when watching a DVD. I don't think I've ever watched a DVD's on it though!

not much you can do m8, other than get a decent upscaler. Must say my wii and GC games (as well as ps2/xbox stuff) upscaled to 1080p look rather nice (Denon avr-1910). Takes away all that horrible 'fuzz' and blur

as suggested component/480p will make it look abit better

oh and ps3 games that only run in 720 at also upscaled to 1080p with no overscan!

regarding the power cable will a standard power cable, i just wonderd whether a dreamcast jap or pal cable would be ok to use with 1? just to go on with for a day or so?

If i remember correctly it uses the same shape figure of 8 power cable as the dreamcast cable, however because the psu in the Q is internal you will need to run it through a stepdown transformer, using a uk power cable directly into it will just turn it into a shiny paperweight as it will fry it.

Indeed a step-down with around 40W operating capacity will do nicely. Most will output 125v but it's OK, as the internal fuse on the Q is rated the same anyway.
With your unregulated Japanese SFC/ MD etc PSU's you really have to stick to 100v or use a UK equivalent, as 125v can cause them (the PSU's) to overheat and fail.

Yes that should work no problem.

Either will be fine i run everything i have on a 110v & it causes no problems.

Sounds like a much better transformer than your average off-the-shelf (which usually output 125v). The Q isn't too fussy as it has a regulated PSU, so anything between 100v - 125v will be OK.
Anything else like your unregulated Super Famicom or Japanese Mega Drive PSU's you have to really stick to 100v.
