Where to get a laptop.

Evening chaps.

Strange one this one and not sure if this is the right place but i am asking a question and seeking advice

The mother wants a laptop after learning all she needs to know about computers. She would only need it to go on the internet as she doesnt know how to do anything else.

We are looking to spend ?400-?500 so where would you knowledgable chaps recommend visiting online or instore? Cheap as possible really because she only knows the bare minimum and would only use the internet on it so its not needed for a dvd player or cd write or anything just a plain and simple laptop.

Edit : its got to be a laptop not a desktop computer.

Insight were cheaper than most when I bought a laptop a few months back. Give them a look. They deliver very quick and you can actually contact their tech support team on the phone.

I must admit I spent more than ?500 as I wanted dvd and cd burner and a reasonable processor. I think if you look at the lowest spec ones you'll find something within your mum's budget

Only get a laptop if you absolutely need the portability.

Otherwise you'd get much more for your money from a desktop machine. Seriously.

Sorry i didnt put it earlier i will edit my message now. We have a wireless network and its incredibly easy with a laptop. I have terrible signal with my pc adaptor but on a laptop with a card in the same room its delightful.

Laptop only and cheap please yash.
