    ATI HD4670 v NVIDIA 8800GT

Ive just bought a Dell XPS 430 desktop witha ATI HD4670 GPU on board. In my old machine i upgraded to a NVIDIA 8800GT just before it conked out.

    1. Does anyone know which is better?

    2. If the NVIDIA is better is it as easy as just taking out the ATI and replacing it?

Bear in mind prebuilts are on razor thin margins in terms of power consumption and what the PSU can supply. You could have power issues (random reboots and crashes). Also moving from ATI to Nvidia on a system is always a pain, make sure you use driver removal tools for them.

I've never liked ATI cards, whenever i've bought a new one they always seem underpowered. I'm using a 8800GT, have been for over a year. It hasn't dissapointed me yet.
