Sony PAL Playstation 2 Slim; Model SCPH-90003 - Have you seen one?

    Hi All

Would like to buy a PAL PS2 again, and I would really like the newest 'Super Slim' with a built in PSU. Apparently these do exist in the UK but I cannot find one for love nor money. Other than on Ebay, which I would prefer not to use.

    Box looks like this:

Older 7000 series Slim boxes look like this (always yellow):

Couple of discussions on the subject at AV and PSN Forums:

So does anyone know for sure any stores that are selling these latest PS2's?

Appreciate covering old ground when it's been asked on those forums, but I want to throw this open to the NTSC-UK forums.

    EDIT - Changed title, Doh!

Emailed GAME yesterday to enquire if they had any stock of these and get the following response:

        Hi

The issue you have raised is unknown to GAME and we recommend you visit the publisher’s website to solve your question(s).

These details are usually found on the packaging of the game, but if you have lost any of these details there are links to them on our own website www.GAME.co.uk.

        Regards,

        The Team at GAME

Should have guessed it would be a useless response, but I thought I might get someone who'd look at this in more detail (i.e. speak to Sony).

So still trying to find these.

Someone on AV Forums mentioned that takethegame.co.uk have the new Slim in stock.

Anyone know if they provide a reliable service?

I've been holding off buying a spare PS2 for a while now because I wanted one of the new 90xxx models. Like you, I haven't managed to spot any in shops, and all the online retailers never give you any details about model numbers.

As for takethegame, I've never even heard of them before. I'll be interested to see if you find any more info though

If you're at all interested in soft modding the console then hold back on these new PS2's as they're not compatible with the available exploits.

Right, just had one of these bad boys delivered from takethegame.co.uk to me. Next-day delivery, secure packaging. Don't think the store has many of 'em left though.

PS. I've never owned a PS2 before; how long does it usually take to boot up a game? Took over 10 seconds before the Persona 4 title screen appeared.

Cool, thank you for the replies. Still have them in stock, but now my money pinching side is coming into play and thinking £99....gulp.

Just wish Sony would do a bit of a PR-push and start selling this model at £50 RRP or something. Would make life so much easier.

can this website be trusted? i've never heard of them and their website is not professional looking, also how do we know you are website owner? and trying to take our hard earned money?
