New Camera Or New Camcorder ?

HI all
I was looking at getting something that shoots 720p video and was after the Sony w290, but as this costs (with warranty and 8gb card) nearly £300 notes I thought why not save cash and go for a Camcorder ?

As with memory card it will come under £150, is it worth the extra cash for the Sony ?
I worry that I will get 3 months in and think damn, I wish I got the good stills camera with the video mode.

Any one have any of the 3 cams ? or any advice is welcome

Both those links are the same :P

The Kodak lacks a zoom lens which is a must in my view. I've heard they give reasonable quality for the price range though. The sony one is a camera first and a camcorder second though so the quality on that front may be around the same (although the better lens will give you more flexibility).

Link fixed, I like that the Kodak is weather proof but the zoom is a pain but not a deal breaker

I'm honestly not sure. Best thing to do is to go around the photography sites and mags and see if they do a side by side comparison between these budget 720p camcorders.

There's a lot to be said about having a 'cheap' camcorder that you don't feel the need to treat like it's made of glass though.
