    new setup- component splitter/switcher

I now have a Q and my Wii on my samsung LCD.

Not really looking to switch between components all the time. Does anyone use a component splitter or switcher? Such as..

    Any recommendations?

I use the Joytech 540C Xbox 360 Component Splitter...

It's pretty damned good & works flawlessly with my 360/Wii/PS2
Can be had cheaply as well...mine was £20 brand new from Gamestation a few months back

If I was to replace it though I'd be buying an Audio Authority one but they aint not cheap.

From what I've heard they make some of the best splitters out there.
As far as I know it's totally losless quality...Mr Pavey has one so can probably help you out with exact details but they do look awesome & quality is top notch.

However I'm nowhere near Audiophile enough to notice much improvement over my Joytech box to be honest & the way it handles connection with the 360 still makes the Joytech my first choice for a component box.

I may ask Mr Pavey for some advice.
          Thanks very much.

Could i place an s-video cable in these also?
Then I could have my Wii/Q and N64 on the go!

Probably, but then you would have to run separate s-video cable to your tv, because these switches won't do any conversion to component.

Are there any component switchers that don't require a power supply?

Got an update for you all concerning the Joytech 540C...

                      It doesnt like High Def!!!!!

Been trying to use it with my PS3 @ 1080i over the last few days & all I get is wobbly picture & signal cut out on all the channels bar channel 1 (Which is reserved exclusively for 360)
My PS2 & Wii at 480P both seem fine but show it a HD signal & it throws a fit.

I've direct connected my PS3 using my amp & everything works absolutley fine no picture issues at all so it is deffinitley the 540C causing it.

I'm going to try a Farmer Component switcher shortly to see if thats better so I dont have to keep moving the amp to plug the PS3/540C switcher in & just use that for the Wii/PS3/360.

If not then I'll deffinitley start saving for an Audio Authority switcher.

Chalk up another vote for the Farmer switch from me. I don't use one on my main system any more but I did for a couple of years and it worked great on both SD and HD sources. When I upgraded to a (much) more expensive switch I did notice the picture looked slightly... punchier(?), but for the price the Farmer is great value.

FYI, my new switch came from www.videostorm.com. It's a 6-in-2-out component video only one (no sound) that was US$159 but they don't seem to be selling it any more. I needed 2 outputs as I have a projector and a TV in the same room.
