what printing company did you use mate, is there any loss of quality having them made up to A3?

I used a local firm in Kingston http://www.jaggerprint.co.uk/ 'cause my brother's mate is one of the Jagger family. BTW his parent's christened him NICK!

The images are large enough to be printed A3 without any noticeable loss of quality.

Just speak to whoever you use once you've emailed it to them and they should be able to tell you if the size you want will affect the quality.

You may wish to confirm to them that it is for private use in case they get twitchy over copyright issues.

There's advice on printing in the GAF thread from memory.

I'll get some pics of mine and my set up posted over the weekend.

This thread just surpassed all expected levels of awesome.

Not only has that GAF thread got an image I am very excited about printing, but that firm you have just listed is in Kingston - a bus ride from my house. Don't suppose they do A3 frames whilst they're at it, do they?

I used http://sitebuilder.yell.com/sb/show....01600785000030 to get them framed.

They charged £15.00 each for plain black wooden frames and white borders.

I'm not sure I can recommend them though. They work VERY vague hours and it took two weeks to get them back.

Once they finally did them they did a good job but the waiting was horrendous.

Don't forget that if you are (as recommended) going to use borders then you will need frames that are bigger than the image

One final point, It's worth paying the extra couple of quid for non reflective glass. It makes ALL the difference. There is nothing worse than being unable to see your posters 'cause a lightbulb is reflecting on the glass

Ok - think I will hold off till I see pictures of yours and make a judgement call from there. Whilst I am all up for getting them looking as tidy as possible, I am conscious that all of my existing posters are up as-is, and if I make this one look too good I will end up having to spend three figures on framing all of my old ones. Roughly how much was the print from Jagger, if you don't mind me asking? (Thanks!)

Jagger did mine for a decent bottle of wine so I can't tell you how much they will charge!

Pressure is on for me to take those pics

Go for it I say. They will look a thousand times better that they will stuck up with blu tack or sitting in a tube under the bed

Just spent an hour looking at the GAF thread and there are some cool KOF images that I'm definitely going to get made up into posters.

A lot of the images don't display though. I wonder if that's got anything to do with the fact that my account hasn't been properly setup by the admins.

I think it's due to the fact that the thread is old, there's still a ****load of good stuff in there

                      This place will print glossy A3 posters for ?9.95, A2 for ?11.95 & A1 for ?14.95.

Might send them an image and see what the quality is like. ?10 isn't too much for a trial.

OK, finally as promised pics of posters and setup.

As you can see the borders make the posters look heaps better.

that gaf thread is good, but anyone know anywhere where we can get actual poster posters like this?

EDIT: would love a high res version of this if anyone can find one

EDIT 2: Found this site which has a really good bunch of pictures, unfortunately none at very high resolutions though.

EDIT 3: ARGH! the more i look, the more posters i want. now its this one that i cant find a high res scan of or an actual poster to buy.

sorry, i will get around to posting some of the good scans, bed time now though

Have you given them a shot yet mate?

I've just popped them over a file (6 meg jpegs, madness!) which I'm hoping they will cast a watchful eye over and tell me if it's fine ratio & size-wise for a 112 * 84 print.

edit: they liked it and said it was "ideally suited to large applications" - have ordered now. Will post up pics when it arrives!

Apologies for large size but also for shoddy cameraphone pic.

Shall try and get a better pic later!
