NTSC WII losing time and date

    Hi

my wii does not hold its time or date properly , also im confussed about what the CR2032 battery does in the wii.

Recently i installed a drivekey chip and replaced the CR2032 at the same time ?

    Any help would be great
    Thanks

Battery is used to keep system time and date, I think the manual mentions it. Maybe the drivekey chip is somehow resetting system time or the battery isn't properly placed.

Sounds like the CR2032 battery either isnt inserted/orientated properly or its dead. Can I ask why you decided to replace it when you were fitting a drivekey chip? (Unless you meant just taking it out and putting it back)

Oh, and bear in mind if its inserted the wrong way round (positive and negative side flipped) that it could possibly have done some damage to the Macronix clock chip that stores the date and time settings - im not trying to worry you, its just that its a possibility. There are + - orientation guide symbols on the CR2032 battery tray that slides out though.

(EDIT) Did you deactivate Wiiconnect24 before the mod?:-

Seems it can mess stuff up if Wiiconnect24 isnt deactivated before you take the battery out.

when i put the drivekey in i was also replacing the case with a black XCM case so thought id replace the battery at the same time , looking at it again its my fault i had the battery in upside down (what a knob) :P
