How do I display PAL games in colour on a Japanese Game Cube

    Hi

I've recently purchased an orange gamecube from Japan. However when I
use Freeloader to play english games eg Harry Potter and Turrok 2 they
    output in B & W.

Free loader is version 1.06 and states on the instructions that
it is the European edition. On your website you have a picture of the
product with three flags in the bottom right hand corner, is it an
international version? Or failing that is there a Japanese version of
    the sofware?
My TV will display NTSC correctly as Japanese games work in colour without any conversion software!

Your help would be much appreciated.

How are you connecting to your TV? You'll be needing an Component or modified RGB cable really, unless you can get the game to do 60Hz.

Had this prob with MOH, you need one of the modded leads that Saurian used to do. I don't think he does them anymore, but a post in the wanted thread should turn one up.

...unless you can get the game to do 60Hz.
Regarding this, you can get PAL games that support 60hz to prompt you by holding 'B' throughout the Freeloader process. In other words...

        1) When Freeloader has loaded, press 'B'
        2) Select the region (still holding 'B')
        3) Insert game and close lid (still holding 'B' )

...the game should prompt you about the 60hz mode. Probably a bit unnecessary, but it works - I don't have Turok but all the PAL games I have work OK using the method (inc. Burnout 2, Zelda). Most 50hz stuff displays funny (or doesn't work full stop) on an NTSC cube unless you're using the modded-RGB lead.

Are there different region versions of Freeloader?

I have a US/Jap cube and I'm considering buying the PAL Mario Kart bundle - can I just buy one version of Freeloader and use it on both cubes to load all regions of games?

            Freeloader is region free.

However there are quite a few issues with PAL games on NTSC machines, so make sure it works before you get one .

              Quick answer - cheers

I guess if I bought a game that wouldn't work on my import cube I'd just have to play it on the UK one. I could live with that.
