PSP dead, seriously WTF

Ok haven't played the thing in months but went to turn it on, power wouldn't come on. Ok no probs i thought battery is probably flat.

Went to plug the charger in, but no orange charging light at all. So now i have a dead psp, is there a special attention whore chip in there that kills the thing if you dont play it on a daily basis?

So anyone had this problem with the orange light not coming on to charge, the battery should still be fine it's not that old.

try charging it via a usb charging cable...that might work

You've not made that "common" mistake of not actually having a battery in it have you? Hey, it happens apparently!

LOL no theres a battery in i tried plugging in the charger both with & without it. No difference still no lights of any description.

There was a fella on another forum who had the exact same problem, he'd had his in storage a while as well, turned out it was the AC adaptor that was dead, might be worth trying it out on someone elses PSP to see if it charges

My AC adaptor died quite some time ago, i now charge via USB and its fine.

Finally solved the problem, it indeed was the piece of crap power supply. I asked someone at work to bring their psu in to try it with & it charged & played fine. Instead of paying sonys rather harsh price for a new power supply which is most likely made of bobbins & sticky tape. I decided to get a charging cable off ebay i can now charge & connect it at the same time all for the princely sum of ?2 and that included postage.

Now i can order boku no natsuyasumi 4 YAY
