    CD-RW Big Problem.

Argh, my CD-RW has been playing up a bit recently. Not all discs were copying, they'd get stuck at a certain percentage and not move forwards and I'd have to eject it. I've been copying at lower speeds to try and increase the success

Now for the first time it's just said:

    "MITSUMI CR-48XETE
    Power Calibration Error."

I'm using Nero 5, do you know what the problem and what I can do?

Posting in the new PC forum would be a start.

It sounds like your drive unit/lens has died.

Argh, sorry for posting in the new forum. I assumed that it was a technical question and therefore it would go there... I'm a little confused about where things should go to be honest eg Questions should be in Off Topic or whatever... Oh well, if I have a problem I'll bring it up with the mods.

        ---

Do you really think that I'll have to get a new CD-RW drive? It is only 4 months old! Atleast it is still on warrenty.

New LiteOn writer will cost you about 30 notes. Time to clear out those moths from the wallet.

I recently had this problem recently, then the next day windows stopped working and when I tried a reinstall it didn't recognise the HDD.

Had to do a full format them install everything again.
