Saving 360 games to the Hard drive

So let me test the water here:

If I buy/borrow/rent a game then can I save it to my HD to play whenever I want even if at some point down the line I dont still have the actual physical disc of the game anymore?

If so then doesnt this mean that ppl can lend games to their friends only to have them copied to their own HD, thus getting a 'free' game?

Will there b any loss of quality in the visuals & how much memory on average will they take up on the HD?

No you can't: you have to have the disc inserted in order to play games from the hard-drive. Different games take up different amounts of space. Ballpark figure is 4-7GB...? There's doubtless a list somewhere.

EDIT: Here's one I found by googling: http://www.bingegamer.net/2008/so-ho...install-chart/

    There's no loss in quality.

So whats the point of saving to HD? Is it just faster loading times?

Some of them have faster loading, you can eliminate crashing related to streaming, stops you wearing out your drive, less noise. But, obviously, you're still gonna need the disc.
