    PSN Games and 60Hz

Is there any evidence that any of the downloadable games on the PSN are 50Hz-only (besides the Playstation Classics)? I know that there are still some retail PAL PS3 games that are 50Hz only and wondered if this extended to any PSN games?

I have an NTSC PS3 and couldn't play Tekken from the EU store on my SD TV as it wanted to switch to 50Hz.

I have an NTSC PS3 as well. So I'm guessing that if a game is 50Hz only, it simpy won't run on an NTSC PS3? Was there an error message?

It will run, but not if you have a SD TV. Works fine on a HD TV.
My friend in the states (SD tv) couldn't load these from the euro store:
        - Tekken 5 DR
        - Flower
        - PSX games

Some are 60Hz (also) though, like Outrun Arcade.

That's fine then as I am still using an SD TV at the moment. I downloaded a load of PSN games today from the EU store and was concerned that I was buying 50Hz crap, but if the games are running fine on my SD TV (using a US PS3) then they must support 60Hz.

On a related matter, how easy is it to buy stuff from the JPN and US PSN stores? I'm assuming I need to create new PSN IDs for each region and just buy PSN points cards from the respective region to buy the games?

Yup, spot on. There's a guide for creating a JPN account in the PSN forum.

Yep, found the guide and have managed to setup US and JPN accounts. Cheers.

I have one more small Q though, which is going to sound really dumb, but I can't for the life of me figure it out - how can you sort your games alphabetically in the Game section of the XMB?

I think the sort options are on the Square button. It'll sort by date modified, last game played and one or two others if I remember correctly.

You can manually sort games as well, by adding them to custom albums (Hit Triangle on the game and manually enter the name of the album).

Got it - you have to manually name a folder for each game in each games Information section. How utterly retarded! It will automatically sort Albums alphabetically but not games! No wonder Sony are in 3rd place peddling **** like this.

One more question (semi-related): is there a list anywhere of all the retail PAL PS3 games that are 50Hz only? Failing that, does anyone know if PAL Little Big Planet supports 60Hz?

PS3 games don't work like that. There is no PAL or NTSC coding. Any PS3 disc will run any way you tell it to (with the exception being 1080i/p). i.e. you are governed by what signal your TV can accept.

Answer my PM too whilst you're at it.
                      Kept you waiting, huh?

Sorry, my question was incorrectly worded, what I meant to say is, does PAL LBP support 60Hz on an SD TV? I am aware that there are some PAL PS3 games that do not.

Yes, and it's an SD TV. I just wanted to know if PAL LBP does 60Hz so I can use it on a US PS3. I don't want to buy it only to see that it's 50Hz-only in SD, which my PS3 won't display as there are no PAL/50Hz options in the display settings.

                              It'll run

Seems like an odd choice of PS3 to buy if you only have an SDTV though. PSN-wise anyway.
