    Ebay Advice

Don't know if anyone can advise me on what to do, but I won a game on ebay last Friday. I paid the guy by paypal on the Sunday, but I've not heard from him at all and I've not received the game.

Obviously, given the fact he's now got my money, I am a bit concerned that I may not get the game.

Does anyone know what course of action I have if this bloke doesn't get in contact and takes my money?

The thought of being able to leave negative feedback does not give me great comfort, so if anyone has experienced anything similar could you let me know what I could do.

    Cheers.

Give it a few more days, at least half of the people I deal with on ebay never reply to auctions and just send the stuff.

As above, i've brought items on ebay with no contact. If your worried just email the seller and ask.

Give him a couple of more days. IF there is nothing by Monday take some action, but be patient.

Hasn't the seller got 14 or 28 days after receipt of payment to send the items? Something like that, it'll be in their T&C guff.

Mind, that's doesn't mean you can't lament him for being slow as arse if he does work to that limit.

If the guy's feedback was decent i would give him the benefit of the doubt, because as these guys said, he probably sent it without notifying you.

Did you actually e-mail him too?

Quite often if you don't make any contact and simply pay via pay pal, the first you'll hear about it is either; a) Your feedback rating will increase, or b) The goods will arrive.

Don't expect sellers to contact you unless you contact them, especially if they are selling a lot of stuff at the same time.

              Regards
              Marty

I mailed the guy on Saturday and then on Sunday to confirm that I had made payment. He's a got a relatively low rating as well (10). I'll give it till the weekend. But what I do after that I don't know.

I don't mind waiting for the game, it's the failure to respond to any emails that ticks me off. As you don't really know where you stand.

As a person who sells more than buys, I tend to not email the other party unless they don't send me their address to send the item to. If you've got 20+ auctions going at the same time it's rather hard to keep track of everyone you have/haven't spoken too. If someone emails to ask a question I happily reply and I send the item a couple of days after the cheque clears. Sometimes they expect the impossible, like someone leaving me negative feedback for not posting the item one day after getting their cheque. Be patient and if there's any hassle there are things ebay can do to sort out unsent items other than leave bad feedback.

Of course this doesn't explain why some foolish buyer who has had 4 weeks now still hasn't sent any payment for a cheap video costing ?4 to me. Ahhh well. It means I get to keep it anyways

Sometimes you get good sellers, sometimes slow ones. I bought Advance Wars II at the weekend, paid via paypal and recieved it Monday. Superb service.

if u paid via paypal using a credit/debit card you can claim the money back from your bank if the game doesnt arrive. i know cos i have done it. ask for a 'card dispute form', fill it in and bobs your uncle

Yeah you can do a charge back, but that is a last resort.

Better still is to pull the sellers details, and give them a call:

                      Use this form:

Buy & sell electronics, cars, clothes, collectibles & more on eBay, the world's online marketplace. Top brands, low prices & free shipping on many items.

Fill in the contact info part, you will get an address, and more importantly a phone number. Ring them up.

I've had to do this a couple of times before, and any problems where always sorted.

Just a thought to add even more confidence...

This time of year is usually when people go on holiday...

                        This could be the case.
